Association for Specialist Fire Protection Ireland

Recognising the importance of correct inspection and maintenance of fire, the Association for Specialist Fire Protection Ireland (ASFPI) is working with the Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) to encourage suitable training and education for all who work with fire doors.

Aimed at passive fire protection contractors, fire risk assessors, facilities managers, inspectors, installers and maintenance contractors, FDIS schemes aim to improve the knowledge of all those involved in specifying, installing or maintaining fire doors. The FDIS education programme comprises a series of online education modules leading to the FDIS Diploma examination, which can be taken at a local centre.

Once a Diploma in Fire Doors (DipFD) has been achieved, you can apply to become a Certificated Fire Door Inspector (CertFDI), by undertaking online FDIS Transition Module. As a Certificated Inspector you will be able to carry out on-site inspections of installed fire doors in existing or new buildings.

ASFP Ireland members will receive a 20% discount when applying for the Diploma in Fire Doors (£400 plus VAT for ASFPI Members) and a 7.5% discount for the Certificated Inspector Scheme (£1850 plus VAT for ASFPI members).
