ASFP Ireland (ASFPI) and the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) will present an expert panel discussion at the Workplace & Facilities Management Expo Virtual Festival from 2.30-4pm on 3 March. The event will consider Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage (DHLGH) documents designed to educate and assist Fire Safety Managers.
Fire Safety Management of Occupied Premises
The DHLGH are adding two new documents to the existing suite of guidance to further educate and assist in Fire Safety Management.
- Code of Practice for Fire Safety Assessment of Premises & Buildings
- Fire Safety Guide for Building Owners & Operators (Guide for persons with responsibilities under Section 18.2 of the Fire Services Acts 1981 & 2003).
New Building Control arrangements (BCAR), introduced in 2014, brought about a change of culture within the construction industry, improving design, inspection & certification standards.
The May 2018 Fire Safety Ireland – Task Force Report provides insights into government fire safety strategy from design, through construction and ultimately management for the life of a building.
This new guidance is designed to build on the progress made under BCAR and improve fire safety management standards in occupied buildings.
This panel discussion hosted by Workplace and Facilities Expo, supported by ASFPI & IFE, provides a platform to discuss this new guidance with experts available to answer questions.
